It is time, time to be in London again.
Every once in a while I just have to go back. Is it because I studied here? Is it the multinational, metropolitan character of the city that attracks me or is it just being in the UK again?
As a systemic coach I am more and more aware of my roots and their influence. One of my great great grandfathers came from the UK to live and work in The Netherlands. Is it that (very little) bit of English blood that makes my blood run faster when I speak English? Is it his international mindset that drove him to Holland that makes me feel fantastic when I work internationally, with people of other cultures? The influence is there, I am sure, invisible, in the undercurrent. One of the beautiful and important aspects of the systemic view is that this influence is taken into account. That there is an eye for it, without any judgement. In fact, it can offer insight in these undercurrent influences and can create space for development. After all, sometimes the influence is so strong that development is hindered, that patterns occure that are not helpful.
We are formed by our ancesters, their influence is there in our daily live, when we take our decisions, when we work with others, in any moment of weakness and strength, regardless of time.
If you consider it time to gain insight in invisible though hindering influences or if you are just curious about the systemic view and what it can offer you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
